The tax man cometh and I'm not happy! As usual, I postpone the pain as long as I can, this year that meant until yesterday. I use Turbotax and it makes it a pretty easy but still painfully tedious task. Working in corporate America has many upsides and a few downsides.  Layoffs fall on the downside of the equation, or do they? For the individual losing a job, being laid off as a plus or a minus has to be taken on a case by case basis.  Some people are miserable with the job they have and were it not for the false sense of security that job provides, they would have moved on long ago.  For these folks being laid off will ultimately be better for them.  Then there are those who are neither unhappy with their job nor entirely enthusiastic about their jobs.  Let's say that these folks can fall into the neutral category where being laid off is c
